Booking deposit (new-to-us one-time clients)

Required to reserve your time slot

For new-to-us one-time services, a $75 booking deposit is required at the time of booking. Your appointment is not confirmed until the deposit is paid. This deposit is applied to your final total when service is completed.

What “new-to-us” means: your first ever service with Meyer Maids, not an existing recurring client.

Payment after service

Same-day settlement

Card on file: we charge the card on file after your service is completed, typically the same day.

Cash / Check: if you prefer cash or check, it must be paid the same day as service.

  • If cash or check is not collected the same day, you authorize Meyer Maids to charge the card on file for the remaining balance.
  • Unpaid balances may place your account on hold and pause future appointments until resolved.

Cancellations & reschedules

24-hour notice
24-hour rule: cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of your appointment start time are considered late changes.
  • Reschedule = cancel: reschedules are treated the same as cancellations for fee purposes.
  • New-to-us one-time clients: late changes within 24 hours result in the $75 deposit being forfeited.
  • Recurring clients: late changes within 24 hours incur a $40 late-change fee.
  • Same-day changes: always count as late changes.

If something unexpected comes up, contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to help, but schedule protection keeps things fair for the team.

Recurring service frequency definitions: weekly means once every week, biweekly means once every two weeks, and monthly means once every four weeks. Monthly service is scheduled on a four-week rotation, not by calendar month. This means the appointment date may shift slightly from month to month.

No-access / lockouts

Arrival procedures

If our team arrives and cannot access the home due to a lockout, missing entry instructions, alarms, or unsecured pets preventing entry, we will call and text and wait briefly.

  • New-to-us one-time clients: the appointment is treated as no-access and the $75 deposit is forfeited.
  • Recurring clients: a $40 no-access fee applies.
  • Please provide clear access notes such as door code, lockbox, parking, and alarm instructions before your appointment.

Access readiness (rooms / areas)

No waiting on-site

To keep your appointment efficient and on schedule, please have the areas you want cleaned accessible and ready to begin at the scheduled start time.

If a room or area isn’t ready or accessible when we arrive: our team may either skip that area and adjust the invoice for that portion, or switch the visit to hourly billing and continue cleaning other ready areas while the space is being made accessible. If no other areas are ready, hourly billing may apply while we wait.

This is different from a full lockout. It applies when the home is accessible, but a specific area is not ready.

One-time cleans: walkthroughs & sign-off

Deep cleans, move-in / move-out, and other one-time services

For one-time services, we require a brief walkthrough at arrival and a quick walkthrough at completion whenever possible. This keeps scope clear and allows touch-ups while our team is still on-site.

  • Arrival walkthrough (5–10 minutes): confirm priorities, scope, and any condition limits.
  • Completion walkthrough (about 5 minutes): review priority areas and handle touch-ups on the spot.
  • Photos for quality control: we may take before and after photos to document condition and completion while avoiding personal information when possible.

Touch-ups & callbacks

24-hour window for missed in-scope items
24-hour touch-up window: if something within the agreed scope was missed, contact us within 24 hours of completion and we will schedule a touch-up.

Not eligible for touch-ups:

  • Permanent staining, wear, damage, etching, rust, or issues caused by old buildup that cannot be fully corrected.
  • Areas blocked or inaccessible during the appointment.
  • Items outside the booked scope or add-ons not purchased or approved.
  • Issues caused by new mess after completion.

Add-ons & scope changes

Approval required

Add-ons should be selected at booking when possible or approved during service before work begins. If a request is outside the booked scope, we may pause to confirm pricing and time before proceeding.

  • If you request extra work during service, we’ll confirm whether it’s an add-on and get approval before starting.
  • If an add-on is declined, we skip that item or area and continue with the rest of the appointment when feasible.
  • Pricing assumes standard household conditions and reasonable access. We may adjust pricing or decline service if conditions are unsafe or clearly outside scope.
  • Dishes: $9 per load, meaning a full dishwasher load or equivalent batch. If multiple loads are completed, each load is counted separately and noted on that visit’s invoice.

Additional time

Approval required

Most homes are priced using flat-rate packages based on home size, rooms, and add-ons. Our minimum charge for a standard visit is $139 for one cleaner for 2 hours.

If you'd like us to stay longer than what was booked, additional time is available at $30 per cleaner, per hour.

  • Billing increments: additional time is billed in 30-minute increments.
  • Team size: additional time is billed per cleaner.
  • No surprises: we’ll always confirm with you before adding time.

Pet accidents & sanitation add-ons

Limited sanitation, approval required

If we encounter pet accidents such as pee, poop, or vomit, or other bodily fluids like urine or vomit, we may be able to sanitize the affected area as an add-on after your approval.

Hard boundaries: we do not handle blood in any amount, needles or sharps, sewage backups, or heavy contamination such as widespread waste or soaked porous materials. If any of these are present, we will stop work in that area and may need to skip it, reschedule, or refer the job to a specialized service.

Typical add-on tiers when eligible:

  • Pet Accident Cleanup (Indoor): Minor $29; Moderate $59; Heavy $149+ with approval required
  • Bodily Fluids Sanitation (No Blood): Small-area $89; Moderate $149; heavy contamination not offered

Disposal is bagged and placed in the client’s trash. We do not transport waste offsite.

How to prep for a smooth appointment

Helps the team deliver faster and better
  • Provide entry instructions such as lockbox, code, garage, parking notes, and alarm instructions.
  • Secure pets and let us know about any pet considerations in advance.
  • Make key areas accessible, with floors reasonably clear, counters not overloaded, and items moved off surfaces you want cleaned.
  • Ensure water and electricity are on and available during the appointment.
  • Point out priority areas during the arrival walkthrough, especially for one-time cleans.
